Atomichelix OpenPGP requires the public keys of recipients you wish to send an encrypted
message to. Once you have a public key for recipient, you can encrypt messages
to that recipient. You can import the public key from someone when they send it to
you imbedded in an email message (Method #1 below), and you can import public keys from
"*.asc" files: either as attachments (Method #2 below) or from a file on an SD card
(Method #3 below).

Method #2 |
Method #3 |
This method is only available on devices with OS 4.5 and higher!
Select "Public Keys" from the main screen menu in order to list all your public keys.
You will have no public keys in the list, so exit the application.
When you open an email message that contains a public key imbedded in it, the
prompt shown here will ask you if you wish to import it into your own public
key ring.
If you respond with a "No", the public key will not be imported and the
message will be shown. However, if you respond with a "Yes", you will be
prompted to enter the email associated with the public key (defaulting to
the first identity email inside the key), like the prompt shown here.
Open a message that contains an "*.asc" attachment file. A "*.asc" file is
an armoured key file, which will contain ASCII-encoded keys.
Navigate to the attachment and open the menu. Select 'Open Attachment' from
the menu and the system will download the "*.asc" file and open it.
When you open an "*.asc" file attachment that contains a public key imbedded
in it, the prompt shown here will ask you if you wish to import it into your
own public key ring.
If you respond with a "No", the public key will not be imported. However,
if you respond with a "Yes", you will be prompted to enter the email
associated with the public key (defaulting to the first identity email
inside the key), like the prompt shown here.
Start the "Media" application and open the menu. Navigate to "Explore" and
select it to begin navigating the filesystem.
Navigate through the filesystem until you are in the directory that contains
the public key (as an "*.asc" file) you wish to import.
Highlight the "*.asc" file, open the menu, and select the "Open" menu item.
When you open an "*.asc" file attachment that contains a public key imbedded
in it, the prompt shown here will ask you if you wish to import it into your
own public key ring.
If you respond with a "No", the public key will not be imported and you
will be returned directly to the media explorer. However, if you respond
with a "Yes", you will be prompted to enter the email associated with the
public key (defaulting to the first identity email inside the key), like
the prompt shown here.
Once you have entered the email for that public key to be associated with
(which can be different than the one defaulted to), the public key will
appear in the public key list (viewed here) inside the application.
