To get to the settings screen, either open the application and select 'General Settings', or
enter the 'Options' application (from the device's desktop) and select 'Atomichelix OpenPGP'.
The settings that you can change are:
- Application Settings
- "Active" - This turns the application on ("Yes") and off ("No") for listening for encryption and decryption of messages
- "Connection type" - The type of connection the application should use. The default of "BIS" will work for most, but if you are connected to a BES, change it to "BES". If you are having connection issues (for getting a license), change it to "APN" and make sure your APN is correctly specified in your options.
- "Language" - The display language for the application
- "Font size" - The size of the display font in the application
- Encryption Settings
- "Encryption type" - The type of encryption to be used on sending encrypted messages
- "Compression type" - The type of compression to be used on sending encrypted messages
- "Hash Type" - The type of hash to be used on digitally signing messages
- "Messages stored encrypted" - This turns the message decryption to either permanently decrypt a message ("No") or to leave the messages encrypted ("Yes")
- Interface Settings
- "Cache passphrases" - Turns on/off the caching of passphrases. Use "Never" to turn caching off, "Until Reset" to turn caching on until the device is reset, and all timed options to cache passphrases for that amount of time
- "Sign encrypted messages" - "Prompt for signing" will always ask you on outgoing encrypted messages if you would like to digitally sign that message. "Always sign" will always try to sign it, while "Never sign" will never try to sign it
- "Sign plaintext messages" - "Prompt for signing" will always ask you on outgoing plaintext messages if you would like to digitally sign that message. "Always sign" will always try to sign it, while "Never sign" will never try to sign it
- "Outgoing encryption prompt" - Whether to prompt for the sending of an outgoing encrypted message ("Yes"), or to automatically send it without asking ("No")
- "Outgoing plaintext prompt" - Whether to prompt for the sending of an outgoing plaintext message ("Yes"), or to automatically send it without asking ("No")
